Outcomers is a support service for Lesbians, Gay, Bisexuals and
Transgendered (LGBTI+) people in the North east region of Ireland. We
are situated in Dundalk town, Outcomers are committed to developing
appropriate, accessible & safe supports with and for LGBTI+ people in
the North East. We believe that LGBTI+ people have the fundamental
right to be supported in growing, developing and accessing all their
rights as equal citizens. We are offering an exciting opportunity for

difference in the lives of LGBTI+ People in the north East of Ireland.

The post will require enthusiastic experienced person with a passion
for community development in what can sometimes be difficult/
challenging circumstances.
The primary goal of the role is to implement a Community Development
Program that meets the ever-evolving needs of LGBTI+ (Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersexed) people in the North East. Also
to engage with stakeholders and services providers to deliver LGBTI+
awareness training and provide support as required.

Outcomers are seeking to employ a
FULLTIME, REGIONAL LGBTI+ COMMUNITY OUTREACH WORKER
CREATING LGBTI+ VISIBILITY & SUPPORT IN THE NORTHEAST REGION
The post will require an enthusiastic, experienced person with a
passion for community development work.
The primary goal of the role is to engage with services and
individuals across the North-East to develop a range of Supports for
LGBT people living in Louth, Meath, Cavan, and Monaghan. To support
the work of existing groups and develop new and sustainable supports.
THIS POST INVOLVES SIGNIFICANT WORK ON EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS, TRAVEL
ACROSS THE NORTH EAST AND REQUIRES A FULL DRIVING LICENSE AND OWN CAR.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
* At least 3 years? experience of working in a paid capacity as a
Community worker.
* A recognised third level degree.
* Experience of working with LGBT issues would be essential.
* Preference would be given to candidate with training delivery
experience.
Terms FULL-TIME **APPLY ON THE WEBSITE** HOURS A WEEK.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL ENGAGE WITH LOCAL STRUCTURES AND
STAKEHOLDERS TO:
* Develop sustainable supports for LGBTI+ people in the region,
encompassing Louth, Meath, Cavan, and Monaghan.
* To support the work of Outcomers Drogheda as they grow their
service.
* To explore the restarting of LGBTinC the Cavan based LGBTI+ adult
Support services.
* To develop services for LGBTI+ adults in Monaghan and Meath
THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS PROJECT ARE TO:
* Develop regional supports for and with LGBTI+ people in their local
communities in order to make the possibilities for people to meet
likeminded people more realistic, locally.
* Work with local people to set up strong local LGBTI+ supports in
each region,
* Establish visible LGBTI+ supports in rural areas.
* Support families of LGBTI+ people working with them to meet their
needs
* Facilitate appropriate support and training for Health and Social
Care services.
* Be a signposting agent for LGBTI+ people.
* To work with local stakeholders to identify allies and ensure
ongoing supports.
* Engage with local FRC's, SIACAP, PPN, ETBS, Leader, HSE,
Partnerships, Rehab, to ensure links and awareness of services as
working partners, and to enable the sharing of skills and information
through targeted training for services.
* Develop an effective regional stakeholder?s network as an
ongoing support mechanism.
* Explore options to improve the lived experience for LGBTI+ people
in their locality.
* Maintain up-to-date information and resources. Developing and
maintaining systems for collecting and disseminating information, and
resources and local contacts.
* Highlight LGBTI+ need and promote Outcomers work by representing
the organization at regional events and engaging with local media to
generate publicity and advertise events.
* Contribute to the sustainability of the work though contribution
to funding proposals to sustain the post.
* Provide documentary evidence for monitoring and evaluation
purposes.
